Confessions Of A Bookseller

Shaun Bythell has run The Bookshop in Wigtown, Scotland’s ‘book town’, since 2001. In this humorous day-by-day account of one year behind the till, he contends with eccentric customers, itinerant sellers of second-hand books, and online orders thwarted by unreliable broadband. At the end of each day, he tots up the takings and the number of purchasers, before setting off for the pub or a walk along a rainswept Galloway beach.
