Refund policy

OVERVIEW

We take great care in selecting, inspecting, and packing every order. However, if your book arrives damaged or if we have made an error with your order, please contact us and we will do our best to make it right.

All refund requests must be directed to us at mybooks@lunabooks.in

NO RETURNS

We do not accept returns of books for any reason other than those described in the “Damages and Errors” section below. This includes, but is not limited to:

•       Change of mind after purchase.

•       Books purchased in error (wrong title, duplicate purchase, etc.).

•       Books that have been read or used.

•       Books purchased during a sale or promotion.

We encourage you to review your order carefully before completing checkout. If you have any questions about a title before purchasing, please write to us at mybooks@lunabooks.in and we will be happy to help.

DAMAGES AND ERRORS

We assess damage and error claims on a case-by-case basis. We will consider a refund in the following circumstances:

  • The book arrives with physical damage that was not caused by you (e.g., water damage, torn pages, broken spine) that renders it unusable or significantly affects its condition.
  • The wrong book was sent due to an error on our part.
  • The book is missing pages or has a significant manufacturing defect.

Please note: minor cosmetic imperfections that do not affect readability (such as small scuffs, slight cover wear from transit, or minor spine marks) are generally not grounds for a refund. We assess each case individually and will use our judgement.

HOW TO REPORT A DAMAGED OR INCORRECT ORDER

If you believe your order qualifies for a refund under the above criteria, please contact us within 48 hours of receiving your delivery. To help us assess your claim quickly, please include:

  • Your order number or the name and email address used to place the order.
  • A brief description of the issue.
  • Clear photographs of the damage or incorrect item, including the packaging if relevant.

Please send your claim to: mybooks@lunabooks.in within 48 hours after delivery. (please inspect your order as soon as it arrives).

ASSESSMENT AND REFUND PROCESS

Once we receive your claim, we will review it and respond within 3 business days. Our assessment is final.

If a refund is approved:

  • We will process the refund to your original payment method via Razorpay.
  • Refunds typically appear in your account within 5–7 business days, depending on your bank or card provider.
  • We will notify you by email once the refund has been initiated.

If a refund is not approved, we will explain our decision to you. We are not obligated to offer a refund in cases where the damage is minor, cosmetic, or caused after delivery.

EXCHANGES

We do not offer exchanges. If a refund is approved, you are welcome to place a new order separately, subject to availability.

GEOGRAPHIC SCOPE

Luna Books ships within India only. European Union consumer protection rights (including the 14-day cooling-off period) do not apply to our orders.
