Welcome to Luna Books! The terms “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Luna Books, an independent bookstore operating in India. Luna Books operates this website and online storefront, including all related information, content, features, tools, products and services, to provide you with a curated book shopping experience (the “Services”). Luna Books’s online store is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you.

The below terms and conditions, together with any policies referenced herein (these “Terms of Service” or “Terms”), describe your rights and responsibilities when you use the Services.

Please read these Terms carefully, as they cover areas such as the order and payment process, shipping, refunds, and limitations of liability.

By visiting, interacting with, or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use or access our Services.

SECTION 1 – ACCESS AND ELIGIBILITY

By agreeing to these Terms, you confirm that you are of legal age and capacity to enter into a binding agreement under the laws of India. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of the Services complies with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction.

To use the Services, including browsing our online store or placing an order, you may be asked to provide information such as your name, email address, phone number, and shipping address. You represent and warrant that all information you provide is accurate, current, and complete.

SECTION 2 – OUR PRODUCTS

Luna Books sells physical books. Each title on our website has been individually curated. We take care to represent our products accurately, but note:

  • Product images, while mapped to the ISBN, are for illustrative purposes and may at times differ from the actual physical copy due to edition, print run, or device display settings.
  • All product descriptions are subject to change at any time at our sole discretion.
  • We reserve the right to limit the quantity of any product available, or to discontinue a listing at any time.
  • Availability on the website is indicative and subject to physical stock confirmation (see Section 3).

SECTION 3 – HOW ORDERS WORK

When you place an order on our website, payment is collected in full at the time of checkout via Razorpay. Here is how the process works:

  • You add a book to your cart and complete checkout on the website. Payment is collected in full at this stage via Razorpay.
  • Once payment is confirmed, our team locates and inspects the physical copy to ensure it meets our quality standards before dispatch.
  • In the rare event that a title is found to be out of stock or unavailable in acceptable condition after your order is placed, we will notify you promptly and process a full refund via Razorpay to your original payment method.

We reserve the right to decline or cancel any order at our discretion, including if a book is found to be damaged, out of stock, or otherwise unavailable. In such cases, any payment received will be refunded in full.

SECTION 4 – PRICES AND PAYMENT

All prices listed on the website are in Indian Rupees (₹ INR) and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless otherwise stated. Prices are subject to change without notice. The price applicable to your order will be the price shown at checkout.

Payments are processed securely through Razorpay, our payment gateway partner. By making a payment, you agree to Razorpay’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Luna Books does not store your payment card details — all payment processing is handled by Razorpay in accordance with PCI-DSS standards.

We also accept payment via UPI QR code in select cases. Proof of payment may be requested.

You represent and warrant that: (i) the payment details you provide are accurate and complete; (ii) you are authorised to use the payment method you select; and (iii) you will not initiate a chargeback or dispute in bad faith.

SECTION 5 – SHIPPING AND DELIVERY

Luna Books ships across India using reliable courier partners:

  • Shipping charges, if applicable, are displayed at checkout before payment is made.
  • Delivery timelines are estimates only and are not guaranteed. We are not responsible for delays caused by couriers, weather, or events outside our control.
  • Once your order is handed to the courier, risk of loss passes to you. You will receive a tracking link from our shipping partner automatically once the package is dispatched.
  • We currently ship within India only.

If your package appears to have been damaged in transit, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photographs. We will assess each case individually.

SECTION 6 – REFUND AND CANCELLATION POLICY

Your purchases are subject to our Refund Policy. In summary:

  • If we are unable to fulfil your order (book unavailable, damaged copy, etc.), you will receive a full refund via the original payment method.
  • Once payment is made and the order is confirmed, cancellations are at our discretion. If accepted, a refund will be processed via Razorpay to your original payment method within 5–7 business days.
  • Books that have been dispatched cannot be cancelled. If a wrong book is sent due to our error, we will arrange a replacement or refund.
  • We do not accept returns of books that are in the condition they were dispatched, unless there was an error on our part.

SECTION 7 – INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All content on the Luna Books website — including text, product descriptions, images, graphics, and design — is owned by or licensed to Luna Books and protected under applicable intellectual property law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content from this website without our prior written consent.

Luna Books’s name, logo, and related marks are trademarks of Luna Books. Shopify’s name and logo are trademarks of Shopify Inc.

SECTION 8 – THIRD-PARTY LINKS AND TOOLS

Our website may contain links to third-party websites or services (including Razorpay, Shiprocket, and others). We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of these third parties. Please review their respective policies before engaging with them.

Any use of optional third-party tools accessible through our website is at your own risk and discretion.

SECTION 9 – RELATIONSHIP WITH SHOPIFY

Luna Books is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you. However, any purchases you make are made directly with Luna Books. Shopify is not responsible for any aspect of any transaction between you and Luna Books, including any injury, damage, or loss resulting from purchased products or services. You expressly release Shopify and its affiliates from all claims, damages, and liabilities arising from or related to your purchases and transactions with Luna Books.

SECTION 10 – PRIVACY AND DATA PROTECTION

All personal information we collect through the Services is governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood that policy.

We collect and use your personal data (including name, email, address, phone number, and payment information) to process your orders, communicate with you, and fulfil deliveries. Your data may be shared with our service partners (Razorpay, Shiprocket, Shopify) solely for these purposes. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

We are committed to complying with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India) and will handle your personal data responsibly. You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data by writing to us at

Because the Services are hosted by Shopify, Shopify also collects and processes certain personal information as part of operating the platform. Please review Shopify’s Privacy Policy for details.

SECTION 11 – FEEDBACK

If you submit any feedback, reviews, suggestions, or other content to Luna Books (collectively, “Feedback”), you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, and display such Feedback for any purpose related to operating and improving our Services. You represent that your Feedback is your own and does not violate the rights of any third party.

SECTION 12 – ERRORS AND OMISSIONS

While we make every effort to ensure accuracy, our website may occasionally contain typographical errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in product descriptions, pricing, or availability. We reserve the right to correct any such errors and to update or cancel orders accordingly, with notice to you.

SECTION 13 – PROHIBITED USES

You may use the Services for lawful personal purposes only. You must not:

  • Use the Services for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose.
  • Violate any applicable Indian or international law or regulation.
  • Infringe our or any third party’s intellectual property rights.

  • Attempt to circumvent any security or access controls on the website.
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Services for any user who violates these Terms.

This section applies if you use, allow, or enable any automated software or agent to access, use, or interact with the Services. Any such agent must:

  • Identify itself clearly in all HTTP/HTTPS requests (including via a user agent string).
  • Not conceal or disguise automated access as human behaviour.
  • Not bypass or circumvent any CAPTCHA, bot detection, or access control measures.

We may, at our discretion, limit or block automated access to the Services.

SECTION 15 – TERMINATION

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Services at any time, without notice, if we determine that you have violated these Terms. Upon termination, the following sections will continue to apply: Intellectual Property, Feedback, Disclaimer of Warranties, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, Governing Law, and Privacy Policy.

SECTION 16 – DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES

THE SERVICES AND ALL PRODUCTS OFFERED THROUGH THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. LUNA BOOKS DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES, SO THESE EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU IN FULL.

SECTION 17 – LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, LUNA BOOKS, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS (INCLUDING SHOPIFY AND RAZORPAY) SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES OR ANY PRODUCTS PURCHASED THROUGH THE SERVICES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT PAID BY YOU FOR THE ORDER GIVING RISE TO THAT CLAIM.

SECTION 18 – INDEMNIFICATION

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Luna Books, Shopify, Razorpay, and our respective affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any losses, damages, liabilities, or claims (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (1) your breach of these Terms; (2) your violation of any law or third-party right; or (3) your use of the Services.

SECTION 19 – SEVERABILITY

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable, that provision shall be enforceable to the maximum extent permitted by law, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

SECTION 20 – WAIVER AND ENTIRE AGREEMENT

Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us with respect to the Services and supersede all prior agreements.

SECTION 21 – ASSIGNMENT

You may not transfer or assign these Terms or any of your rights under them without our prior written consent. We may transfer or assign these Terms without restriction.

SECTION 22 – GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Hyderabad, India.

We encourage you to contact us first to resolve any dispute informally before initiating formal proceedings.

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated to you in accordance with applicable law. Your continued use of the Services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
